Mek has launched a newly redesigned version of the PowerSpector JSAz 350 desktop AOI system.
Rather than having a completely different chassis shape to the PowerSpector 550 as the old 350 did, the new 350 AOI is now simply a smaller version of the newer 550 chassis.
The major mechanical update in the new PowerSpector automatic optical inspection (AOI) machine is its fixed PCB stage. In the previous model, the PCB moved in the Y direction during inspection. In the new model, the PCB stays fixed in place while the optical head moves, delivering the same level of inspection stability offered by the 550.
While the larger 550 remains the ideal choice for inspecting bigger boards thanks to its larger inspection area, for manufacturers looking to save bench space, the smaller footprint of the 350 is a major selling point. Because of its smaller size, the new 350 also comes at a lower price point than the 550, while providing the same mechanical stability.
