Mek Highlights Dual-Sided AOI Innovation at Productronica India 2025

TechMezine interview with Mek (Marantz Electronics) at Productronica India

At this year’s recent Productronica India, Techmezine’s Ila Sharma caught up with Mek Sales Director Shoich Rashed and Snehal Nijadkar,  MD of ACD Renaissance, Mek’s distributor in India, to discuss the company’s latest inspection solutions and its growing success in the Indian electronics manufacturing market.

Representing ACD Renaissance, Snehal introduced the company’s comprehensive offering of end-to-end manufacturing solutions — from pick and place to inspection, semiconductor packaging, and cleanroom technologies — backed by world-leading principals such as Universal Instruments and Mek.

The interview then moved to the Mek booth, where Shoich presented the company’s PowerSpector BTL, an inline AOI system for simultaneous top and bottom inspection. a feature that’s proving particularly popular with Indian manufacturers.

Shoich highlighted that the BTL integrates 18 cameras in total — nine on each side, each capable of movement along the X, Y, and Z axes for maximum precision. Laser height measurement on the top side enables highly accurate 3D inspection, while generous clearances of 60mm on the top and 30mm on the bottom allow for inspection of even large through-hole components.

“We call this the Swiss Army knife of inspection,” Shoich explained. “It can handle SMT component inspection, solder joint analysis, and THT inspection — essentially every stage of the production process.”

Shoich also noted that Mek has introduced special pricing for the Indian market, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting local manufacturers with advanced yet accessible inspection technology.

Strong Confidence in India’s Electronics Growth

Back in the studio, Shoich reflected on Mek’s continued investment in India and the rapid advancement of local electronics manufacturing. Ila asked about Mek’s expectations for the event and for the Indian market as a whole. Shoich expressed clear confidence in the region’s growth and potential:

“India is a very important market for us. There are over 4,000 production lines here and it’s growing fast, with strong government support and investment. The quality is improving so much — even the new iPhone 17 has been fully produced here. That shows the world what India can do.”

Mek’s presence at Productronica India underscored its long-term commitment to serving one of the world’s most dynamic and fast-growing electronics manufacturing hubs.
