This summer, Mek’s global distributor network has been very active across Europe and Asia, hosting events that brought together industry experts, customers, and partners to explore the latest in electronics manufacturing technology. At the center of each event was Shoich Rashed, Mek’s Sales Director, presenting in-depth technical insights into Mek’s AOI solutions, including the growing role of AI and the latest developments in THT inspection.

Partnertec Tech Day – The Netherlands
Date: June 11, 2025
Location: ITW Offices, Oosterhout
Host: Partnertec
At this year’s Partnertec Tech Day, Mek joined fellow technology leaders to explore “Solutions for Challenging SMT Applications.” Around 50 attendees took part in a packed day of presentations, hosted at ITW’s Oosterhout facility.
Shoich Rashed focused his session on AI in AOI, highlighting how Mek’s AI-driven inspection systems enable rapid, programmer-independent programming. This means that any operator can program the machine, regardless of experience, reducing setup time and increasing consistency across production lines.
The event also featured speakers from ASMPT, Indium, Modi, Inovaxe, and ITW — creating an excellent forum for discussing challenges and exchanging technical knowledge.
Inspection Day – Spain
Date: July 1, 2025
Location: BCN Vallès Technology Park, Barcelona
Host: AB Electronic Devices
Mek’s Spanish distributor, AB Electronic Devices, hosted a full-day technical event near Barcelona, focusing on best practices and new technologies in PCB inspection.
Shoich Rashed presented Mek’s advanced THT AOI solutions, with a special emphasis on the SpectorBOX X1, our modular 3D AOI system tailored for THT inspection. He explained how this system meets the growing need for reliable, high-speed inspection of solder joints in through-hole assemblies.
Attendees also learned about:
- IPC-A-610 acceptance standards
- 3D SPI and AOI
- X-ray and acoustic microscope inspection (AMI)
- Selective conformal coating inspection
A hands-on session in the afternoon allowed participants to interact directly with the equipment and ask application-specific questions.
India Webinar – PCBA Inspection in Power & Automotive Electronics
Date: July 16, 2025

Host: ACD Renaissance LLP
Hosted by Mek’s Indian distributor ACD Renaissance LLP, this live webinar attracted 110 participants and sparked an extended technical discussion on inspection needs across power electronics, automotive electronics, and ESDM manufacturing.
Shoich Rashed presented Mek’s full inspection portfolio, zooming in on VeriSpector for manual assembly and Mek’s THT inspection products. The session included a detailed Q&A segment and tackled key market questions, including:
- Inspection’s role in risk mitigation and recall prevention
- How Mek supports traceability and MES integration
- ROI calculation using Mek’s dedicated ROI calculator
- And again, the standout benefit of AI in AOI — rapid setup that doesn’t rely on the skill or experience of the programmer, making high-quality inspection accessible across teams
With participation from sectors including automotive, EMS, power electronics, and consumer electronics, the event reflected India’s strong interest in smart, scalable inspection solutions.
