The Mek Annual Global Technical Meeting took place last month. The three primary aims of the annual meeting are: communication, motivation and education. Updating the global team on AOI and SPI product developments, catching up with colleagues and making plans for the year as a team, is an essential part of the company’s communication strategy and sales success.
Usually held in Japan, due to Coronavirus and related travel restrictions, the 4 day conference this year was held virtually for the very first time. The assembled attendees included the personnel of the Marantz Japan Headquarters along with the CEO’s, hardware/software managers, & sales managers of Europe, Americas and Asia.
The event included all the typical features of our ‘live’ meetings. There were product discussions, regional presentations, management forecasts and strategy sessions to determine the plan for the year ahead. There was also some great team-building.
Product discussions focussed on new AOI technology developments designed to meet the evolving needs of our global client base.

- Development update of the Mek 3D AOI equipment
- Development of new software functions
- VeriSpector, a new THT AOI assembly unit
After the meeting the Mek team is energized, motivated and looking forward to the new challenges coming our way. Moving forward we are of course hoping to be able to host our meeting in person next year, but we are prepared to go digital, for our team and for our customers, as long as is needed.
