Looking into a company’s blog is often one of the best ways to learn about an organization. After over 25 years in business, we decided it was about time that we started to introduce you to some of the Mek team. Our ‘meet the team’ series is designed to help you learn a little more about who we are, what we do, and what we find important. It could give potential customers an idea of who you’ll be working with and just a glimpse of what our culture is like.
To kick things off, we start with one of our Sales Engineers, Tomek Jasinski.
What kind of work do you do at Mek / what are you responsible for?
I am responsible for the installation and maintenance of our AOI machines and providing post-sales support to our customers. I also write code for complementary tools and products.
We deal with a large variety of support issues ranging from programming help for customers to technical support for our distributors & agents. These can vary in complexity and are usually discussed internally to ensure that the answer/solution provided is as complete as possible and as clear as possible. Taking the extra time to communicate this helps our customers and distributors build their knowledge base, as well as our own.
Site visits and direct communication with the customer are very important so that we can ensure that their systems are performing optimally and always up to date with the latest software advancements. With the current global situation, the amount of time we spend on customer sites has unfortunately reduced but we still visit when we can. If it’s just not possible we have webcam meetings with the customer engineers.
What makes your work so enjoyable?
I really enjoy the diversity and the working atmosphere at Mek. It’s a very varied role and I often find myself getting involved in different projects. No day is the same and I’m constantly able to broaden my experience and skill set. We have a close team and communication is very important. I like the fact that we are able to share our discoveries and solutions and learn from each other. It helps us all grow and enables us to perform our jobs to the highest degree, which is very satisfying.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do outside of work?
Music has always been very important for me, as well as cinematography. Whenever the weather permits, you’ll find me exploring the great outdoors and nature with my trusty camera.
